The second week in June is National Business Etiquette Week in the USA. As I reviewed this topic it reminded me of a book sitting on my office shelf. This book is close for a reason. Whenever I deal with people from other countries I refer to this book and you should to if you do any international work.
The book is Kiss, Bow and Shake Hands – How to Do Business in more than 60 Countries Around the World by Terri Morrison and Wayne Conaway. Since I have tested the content within this book on several occasions, I have found it to be accurate and very helpful in giving me insight into the mannerisms and cultural differences within other countries.
This book should be required reading or at a minimum a required reference source for international business to business sales people. It will give you an assist in making sales the “right way” with the international buyer.
